Moscow Field Office Closing on March 29, 2019

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it will permanently close its field office in Moscow on March 29, 2019, because of a significant decrease in workload. The office will be open to the public and will accept applications only until February 28, 2019.

Responsibilities Transferred to Other USCIS Offices

The Athens field office will assume jurisdiction over immigration matters in the Russian Federation, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The U.S. Embassy in Moscow will assume responsibility over a limited number of services for individuals residing in Russia. Meanwhile, the USCIS Refugee Affairs Division will assume responsibility for adjudicating refugee cases presented for interview in the region.
