The General Services Administration (GSA) announced that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will move its headquarters to Camp Springs, Maryland. The USCIS currently has multiple locations for its headquarters. This location will consolidate the headquarters and the lease agreement will be valid for 15 years. The new location is estimated to save the agency over $21 million, and reduce the carbon footprint of the USCIS.

The GSA, which looks at the real estate and technology of the government, worked with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to ensure that the agency’s needs would be met financially and operationally while saving public funds. The new location is supposed to be a world-class workplace, while providing better value to taxpayers.
